Dayton T. Brown’s Technical Services Division has established itself as a leader providing a full range of technical information development services to the aerospace industry. DTB has successfully implemented comprehensive technical publications programs and logistics support services for some of the most demanding airframe manufacturers, suppliers and completions centers in the world.

Dayton T. Brown, Sr. was a pioneer in the field of aviation engineering, with an extensive engineering background dating back to his graduation from M.I.T. in 1921. Some of his accomplishments included the design and development of the Brewster Buffalo (F2A Fighter), Tadpole and Kitten. This deeply rooted history has been the foundation for which DTB has built its technical services division to support many aviation organizations:

Our technical writing staff of A&P Mechanics, Pilots and Engineers possess over 500 years of combined aviation authoring experience. Our staff experience includes detailed knowledge of complex, mission critical systems and equipment. In addition, our writers are experts in all current military and commercial standards and specifications for technical documentation development. (i.e.: ATA 100, ATA iSpec 2200, S1000D (all Issues), MIL-STD-40051-1/2 and AMCOM variants, MIL-STD-38784, MIL-STD-2361C, MIL-STD-3001 and various other MIL-STD’s, ANSI, SCORM, etc.) The DTB staff are proficient in eXtensible Markup Language (XML), Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) authoring, DTD, Schema, FOSI, XSL style sheet development, Simplified English, and interactive electronic manual formats.

DTB develops and maintains suites of technical manuals consisting of Aircraft Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Flight Manuals, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Aircraft Wiring Diagrams, Test and Troubleshooting, Functional Flight Checklists, Flight Crew Checklists, Alert Service Bulletins, Overhaul Manuals, all forms of completion manuals, and the development of STC’s and ICA’s.

All programs require source data gathering, research, field support and interaction with engineers and user personnel. This interaction has proven to be of paramount importance in the successful completion of these programs. DTB’s reputation for the development of high quality, technically accurate and on-time technical documentation has resulted in the initiation of numerous letters of commendation from many of our customers.
